Bharmour is an ancient holy town hidden in the serene beauty of the Himalaya. It is inhabited by Gaddies - a semi nomadic people who reside exclusively among the mountains of Chamba, Kangra and Lauhal district. Aside from its scenic beauty, Bharmour is highly spiritual in essence. It is known as the Abode of Shiva, as there are numerous temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, reflecting the glorious past of this hidden sanctuary.
Trekking Route: Chinar (1800m) - Triund (2835m) - Snow Line, Lahas Cave (3300m) - Indrahara (4400m) - Chata (3700m) - Kwarsi Village (2900m) - Machatr Village (2000m) - Bharmour (2100m) - Chamba(2000m) - back to Dharamsala and Chinar.
Altitude: The trek starts at 1800 meters (5900ft) and climbs to 4300 meters (14000ft).
Duration: 8 days.
Best season: The best time for this trek is from May to October.
Grade: Upper moderate. No technical experience is required. However, prior high altitude experience and long walking distance ability is required.
